A Civil Funeral is “A funeral that is driven by the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family, not by the beliefs or ideology of the person conducting the funeral”.
A Civil Funeral is an established alternative to a traditional religious funeral service. It reflects the wishes of the family in a ceremony that is unique to each person.
The ceremony includes a personal tribute, compiled after a meeting with the family. We will listen to you, contact friends and colleagues if necessary, discuss music and readings and write a script that is tailored to your needs. You may, if you wish, include a favourite hymn or prayer. We will offer support to any family member or friend who wishes to make their own personal tribute, or perhaps read a poem. We always ensure that you have the opportunity to check the script before the funeral.
The funeral ceremony can be conducted at any non-religious location, including crematoria or woodland burial sites.
Every person is unique, so every funeral should be unique.

Ceremony fees are £155 in line with national fees suggested by the Institute of Civil Funerals. In rare cases, additional charges may be applied for extensive travel expenses.
